Best Poker Sets 2026: Top Picks for Every Game and Budget
A good poker set turns any kitchen table into a card room. A poor one ends up in the cupboard after two games. We sell more than 160 poker sets, and we hear the same questions all the time: which set is best for beginners, how many chips do you need for six or eight players, and is ceramic worth the extra money? In this guide we answer them with our own picks for every type of game and budget.
Short answer: for most home games the best poker set is a 500-chip set with clay composite chips and an aluminium case, such as the Ultimate 500. Playing with up to five people or on a tight budget? Start with a complete 300-chip set such as the Ultimate 300. Want the real casino feel? Choose ceramic or clay chips.
The best poker sets at a glance

| Las Vegas Poker Club Tournament | Home tournaments | Clay composite, 14 g |

The standard sets come in a lockable aluminium case with two decks of cards and a dealer button. The Noir is sold without a case; you add one in the configurator. Want to see more options side by side? Compare all our poker sets.
What comes in a poker set?
Nearly all our standard sets are complete, so you can start playing as soon as you open the case:
- Poker chips: 300, 500, 750 or 1000, in the material and weight of your choice.
- An aluminium poker case with a lock and two keys.
- Two decks of poker cards, so you can shuffle one while the other is in play.
- A dealer button to keep track of who deals.
When you order, the configurator lets you change the chip distribution, choose a different case or add extra items. Not included as standard but worth considering: a poker mat for smooth dealing and extra dealer buttons.

How many chips does your poker set need?
Count on 50 to 60 chips per player, with some spare chips for rebuys. These are our recommendations per set size:
| Players | Poker set size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 2 to 5 | 300 chips | Small home games and beginners |
| 6 to 9 | 500 chips | A full table and a regular poker night |
| 10 to 14 | 750 chips | Two tables and home tournaments |
| 15 to 18 | 1000 chips | Clubs, leagues and events |
In practice: a poker set for 4 players is a 300-chip set, a poker set for 6 or 8 players is a 500-chip set, and for 10 players you need 750 chips. Do you often play with rebuys or add a second table now and then? Go one size up.
The best poker set for every type of player
These are our picks per situation, with the facts that matter when you compare them.
Best poker set for beginners: Ultimate
Our pick for first-time buyers is the Ultimate 300. The clay composite chips weigh 11.5 grams, have printed values and feel solid in your hand, and it is one of the most affordable complete sets in our range. Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 (15 reviews). Playing with more than five people? The Ultimate 500 is made for 2 to 9 players. More options are in our beginner poker sets.
Best budget poker set without values: The Dice
The Dice 300 has 11.5-gram ABS chips in five colours without printed values: 100 white and 50 each of red, blue, green and black. You decide what each colour is worth, which makes the set flexible for cash games with changing stakes. It comes with 300 or 500 chips.
Best poker set for home tournaments: Las Vegas Poker Club
Tournaments need plenty of small chips for the early blinds and a few big ones for the later levels. The Las Vegas Poker Club Tournament 300 has exactly that: 300 heavy 14-gram clay composite chips in six values from 25 to 5,000. Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 (20 reviews). The 500-chip version is made for 2 to 9 players. Browse all tournament poker sets.
Best heavy poker set: Monte Carlo
Do you like chips with real weight? The Monte Carlo Tournament 300 also uses 14-gram clay composite chips, with a detailed design inspired by the Monte Carlo casino. It is also available with 500 chips for up to 9 players. See the full range of Monte Carlo poker chips and sets.
Best poker set for cash games: Ceramic Crown
In a cash game the chips stand for the buy-in, so you need small values. The Ceramic Crown 300 has 10-gram ceramic chips with values from 0.50 to 100, which match common home game blinds such as 0.50/1. Ceramic chips are printed edge to edge, so the values stay easy to read. A 500-chip version is available for bigger groups. See all cash game poker sets.

Best professional poker set: WSOP Ace High
For serious tournament players, the WSOP Ace High 300 combines 10-gram ceramic chips with values from 25 up to 100,000. That wide range keeps deep-stacked tournaments easy to manage. A 500-chip version is available for up to 9 players. Find more in our professional poker sets.
Best luxury poker set: Majestic or The Noir
Clay chips have a slightly soft, textured surface and are the choice of many enthusiasts. The Majestic 300 has 10-gram clay chips with cash game values from 0.50 to 500. A 500-chip version is available as well. Discover all Majestic poker sets.
New alternative: The Noir. Launched in May 2026, The Noir Poker Set 300 also has 10-gram pure clay chips, but with a modern mould and black inlays. You can choose values for both cash games and tournaments, the set comes with 300 to 1000 chips, and it costs less than the Majestic. The Noir is sold without a case as standard, so add a case in the configurator when you order.

Best custom poker set: your own design
Want chips with your club logo, a photo or a name? With the Custom Ceramic Poker Set 300 you design all 300 ceramic chips yourself, front and back, with full-colour edge-to-edge printing. You can add a case, cards and a dealer button while you design. Custom products take about 15 to 20 business days to make. Need a different number? Custom poker chips are also sold per chip, from 10 pieces.
Best poker set as a gift
Our poker gift deals bundle a set with useful extras. The Gift Deal Vegas Poker Club 300, for example, adds a 180 × 90 cm poker mat in the colour of your choice, six bounty plaques and two all-in buttons to the set. Planning to give one for the holidays? Order in good time: standard sets are usually dispatched within 1 to 2 business days, while custom sets need a few weeks.
Clay composite, ceramic, clay or ABS?
The chip material decides how your set feels, sounds and looks. The short version is below; the full comparison is in our guide what poker chip set to buy.
| Material | Feel | Weight | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ABS | Durable plastic | 11.5 g | Casual games on a budget |
| Clay composite | Solid and heavy | 11.5 or 14 g | Home games and tournaments, best value |
| Ceramic | Smooth, with a sharp full-colour print | 10 g | Clear values and custom designs |
| Clay | Soft and textured, the authentic casino feel | 10 g | Enthusiasts and collectors |
How to set up your poker set for the first game
A new set is only fun when everyone gets a stack that works. Here are two examples based on the standard chip distributions of our sets.
Home tournament for 5 players
With the Las Vegas Poker Club Tournament 300, give every player a starting stack of 10,000 and start the blinds at 25/50:
| Chip value | Chips per player | Total for 5 players | In the set |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 8 | 40 | 50 |
| 50 | 8 | 40 | 50 |
| 100 | 9 | 45 | 75 |
| 500 | 3 | 15 | 50 |
| 1,000 | 2 | 10 | 50 |
| 5,000 | 1 | 5 | 25 |
That is 31 chips per player and 155 chips in total, which leaves plenty in the case for rebuys and for colouring up later in the night.
Cash game for 5 players
With the Ceramic Crown 300, blinds of 0.50/1 and a buy-in of 50, every player starts with:
| Chip value | Chips per player | Total for 5 players | In the set |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.50 | 8 | 40 | 50 |
| 1 | 8 | 40 | 50 |
| 2 | 4 | 20 | 50 |
| 5 | 4 | 20 | 50 |
| 10 | 1 | 5 | 50 |
The 50 and 100 chips stay in the bank for rebuys and big pots. Our chips have no currency printed on them, so the same set works in euros, pounds or dollars. Prefer a different mix? You can change the chip distribution of most sets in the configurator before you order.
How much does a good poker set cost?
Clay composite sets give you the most for your money: heavy, quality chips in a complete set, with the Ultimate 300 as our most affordable starting point. Ceramic sets such as the Ceramic Crown 300 and pure clay sets such as The Noir 300 and the Majestic 300 usually cost two to three and a half times as much. A 500-chip version usually costs roughly 15 to 70% more than the 300-chip version of the same set. You always see the current price in your own currency on the product pages.
Sets with light plastic chips of around 4 grams are cheaper, but they feel like toy chips and do not stack as well. Looking for a deal? Check our poker sets on sale.
